Hon. Gideon Joshua (Prince Bawa Joe) We have deeper and bigger problems in Nigeria. Kidnappers, ritualists and terrorists only just distract and compound them. These problems may be symptoms or creations of deeper and more fundamental issues. We really have lost our principles and scruples. Our roots have been severed by foreign incursions and replaced with something more vile and evil. Our traditional belief systems and culture have all been discarded and seen as pagan when elsewhere, they find a way to combine religion with culture. We have bastardized traditional institutions and converted those which were meant as checks and balances to autocratic monarchy into instruments of repression by a privileged few. They have become cults for those seeking power and domination. We have transformed well meaning elite and egalitarian campus fraternities into cults of thugs and criminals.
